PPDG in Orthopaedics
The Podiatry Practice Development Group in Orthopaedics is part of NHS Quality Improvement Scotland (QIS).  As an organisation, NHS QIS leads the use of knowledge to promote improvement in the quality of healthcare for the people of Scotland.

The 2008-2009 committee of the PPDG in Orthopaedics is as follows:

Chairman  Dr CE Thomson, FCPodS, PhD, BSc(Hons), MChS
Vice-Chair       Mr AG Thomson, MSc, BSc(Hons), MChS
Secretary  Ms M Kay
Treasurer Mr W McMurrich, MSc, BSc, MChS

The group has members and representatives from all of Scotlands 14 NHS Boards and 2 Podiatry Schools.   The primary function of the group is to provide a forum and means of support for Podiatrists working within Orthopaedics.  A secondary aim of the group is to act as a resource for podiatrists and departments seeking to introduce podiatry into orthopaedics.

Members of the PPDG in Orthopaedics can click on the forum link to visit the NHS elibrary 'shared space' for the group.  An NHS Athens password is required for the elibrary shared space - these are available free of charge to NHS Podiatrists.  All documents pertaining to the Podiatry Practice Development Group in Orthopaedics are currently located on the NHS Scotland e-library shared space.
